The Harish municipality announced on 21 July 2026 that, for the first time, it will run an organized day camp in the schools during the "bridge days" (yemei gesher) between Yom Kippur and Sukkot, on 22–24 September 2026.
Under agreements between the Education Ministry and the Teachers' Union, these days are fixed school holidays, which has left working parents to improvise childcare mid-week.
The municipality credited acting mayor Yochai Fara'ji, deputy mayor and education portfolio holder Revital Gonen, and the education department. The camp will be operated by the Kito Makom company and will run from 07:40 to 16:00, with a 07:30 start in the younger frameworks. Registration details and pricing are expected closer to the date.
