A brush fire broke out on Friday afternoon, 24 July 2026, in open country between Umm al-Qutuf and Barta'a, near Harish.

The report reached the Fire and Rescue Authority's coastal district control center at 15:32. Crews from the Hadera station found the fire burning in several separate spots and spreading through natural woodland, the authority's spokesperson said. Strong winds hampered the effort. Crews concentrated on the eastern sector to halt its advance, additional teams were sent, and KKL-JNF crews joined on the ground. Firefighting aircraft made two drops along the fire's leading edge.

As of the late-afternoon update, no residential homes were threatened.
