As reported on 23 August 2026, Etgarei HeAtid high school in Harish has been included for the first time on the Education Ministry's list of schools receiving the differential reward, granted to upper secondary schools that show achievement and improvement on academic, social and values-based measures.
It is the only Harish school among the 436 institutions nationwide on this year's list, and was placed at reward level 2, the second highest of four.
The school opened in 2018 as a junior high with two classes and 61 pupils. Grade 10 was added in 2020-21, and in 2022-23 it reached six year groups, grades 7 to 12, producing the city's first twelfth-grade cohort. The coming year begins with 800 pupils and a staff of about 150. The principals are Lior Levitan and Tal Goldstein Harduf.
The reward weighs many measures, including matriculation eligibility and excellence, dropout prevention, integration of special education pupils, enlistment in the IDF or national and civilian service, and social and civic involvement, as well as how much a school has improved.
