At a public participation session organised by the municipality on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, and attended by only a handful of residents, planners presented the Nahal Nirbata design as two distinct spaces rather than a single promenade.
Nirbata Forest Park hugs the streambed and is planned as a natural area with minimal intervention, to preserve wildlife and vegetation. Plans include stone terraces to slow stormwater runoff, nature trails and seating among Tabor oaks. It will be accessible to strollers and wheelchairs only in parts.
The urban promenade runs along the southern edge of Harish South, lit and accessible along its entire length, linking Nirbata to Tel Ze'evim.
The new neighbourhood will also have public open spaces with play equipment and dog parks, like those in the city's established neighbourhoods. The area next to Nirbata is meant to be the most natural part of the green envelope around Harish South, within easy walking distance of residents.
