Idit Yantov, a member of the Harish city council, has announced that she is stepping down from her role, sharing a summary and farewell message ahead of the council's plenary meeting.
In her statement, Yantov said the decision came after considerable thought, reflecting on more than a decade in public life. She recalled entering public service out of a genuine desire to make a difference and to help the city, and described filling a range of roles over the years — as a municipal employee, a community activist, a council member and a deputy mayor.
Yantov noted that she had not only managed existing areas of city life but had also helped establish and shape new services and initiatives. She pointed to her part in welcoming thousands of immigrant and new-resident families, building community programs, and developing the city's cultural life.
"Harish will always remain my home," she wrote in her farewell message.
