Yitzhak Haim Cohen, a 25-year-old resident of Harish, died over Shabbat, on 18 July 2026, after a prolonged battle with serious illness. He is survived by his wife; the couple had no children.
The funeral was held on Saturday night at the cemetery in Pardes Hanna. Among those who eulogized him were Harish's chief rabbi, Rabbi Asher Zagdon, and Rabbi Avraham Ben Asulin. Speakers described him as sociable, cheerful and always smiling, constantly looking for ways to help others, and said he bore his illness quietly, with faith and humility.
In an interview about a year ago with the Hidabroot channel, Cohen said he was first diagnosed about three months after his wedding, roughly four years ago. He recovered after a long course of difficult treatments, but the illness returned.
The family is sitting shiva at 24 Shoham Street, Harish.
