Traffic police officers and medics from Magen David Adom's Harish cluster ran a hands-on road-safety activity for pupils at the Etgarei HeAtid elementary school during a community day held in the week of 20 July 2026.
Pupils practiced crossing safely at a crosswalk and learned what to do when an ambulance approaches with lights and siren, including why the siren is nothing to fear: it clears the way so medical teams can reach emergencies quickly. Instructors also stressed helmets, protective gear and road rules for bikes and electric scooters.
The visit is part of a wider road-safety push in the city, which recently included new illuminated crosswalk signage near schools and community centers.
