An indictment has been filed against a 22-year-old Harish resident known by the alias "The Green Professor," after police say he was caught with roughly 380 grams of dangerous drugs divided into individual portions and was subsequently linked to ten drug deals carried out in communities across northern Israel.
According to the indictment, the man was arrested on June 20 during a proactive operation by Northern District police on Route 77, near the Zarzir interchange. A check of his vehicle raised suspicion of drug possession, and a search of the car turned up the drugs already divided into sale-ready portions, police said.
As the investigation progressed, detectives linked the suspect to ten separate transactions with buyers in the north. Investigators allege that to hide his identity from his own customers, he operated on social media and other platforms under the "Green Professor" nickname.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the Northern District prosecution unit in Nazareth filed the indictment with the Nof HaGalil-Nazareth Magistrate's Court, together with a request to keep the defendant in custody until the end of proceedings and a request to confiscate cash seized from him.
Israel Police said it will continue acting against drug dealing and distribution, with an emphasis on locating dealers operating within the general public, in order to reduce drug use and addiction.
