On Monday, 7 September 2026, the commander of the Yizre'eli Brigade named three Harish residents outstanding soldiers, in citations issued ahead of Rosh Hashanah. The IDF identified them only as Capt. (res.) A., a senior warrant officer (res.) N., and Staff Sgt. (res.) S.
All three serve in the brigade's Mishmar HaEmek Battalion. One came from the Armored Corps, one through the academic reserve track and one from Golani.
The Yizre'eli Brigade was established after 7 October as part of a wider expansion of the IDF reserve array, and draws on residents of the area it protects: the Western Galilee, the valleys region, the Jordan Valley, the northern Sharon and the Beit She'an valley. It is one of five new "David" brigades. Its reservists come from the Border Police, Golani, the Paratroopers and other units, and training has focused on building a shared standard of readiness.
