Harish city councillor Itzik Lev announced on Sunday, 1 November 2026, that he is leaving the municipal coalition after one year and three months.
Lev said many initiatives are promoted on paper but never implemented, and pointed to delays in decision-making and budgets. His most recent meeting with Mayor Yochai Parji, the city manager and the professional team concerned a plan to develop Derech Eretz. After months of work, he said, no start date has been set and budgets and approvals are still pending.
He listed achievements in business and economic development, youth and senior citizens, including a business administration unit, the "Derech Eretz 360" plan and programmes for employment, entrepreneurship, students, discharged soldiers and veterans.
"A plan that doesn't reach implementation is still just a plan," Lev said, adding that he would not keep holding responsibility "on paper" without the ability to deliver. He said he is leaving the coalition, not public work, and will continue promoting the plans as a council member outside it. No response from the mayor was included in the report.
