Deputy Mayor and Acting Mayor Revital Gonen said on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, that the Harish country club is not expected to open before the second half of 2029.
Speaking in her weekly live broadcast, Gonen said Holmes Place, which won the tender to build and operate the club, has submitted a preliminary site plan and estimates completion in the second half of 2029. She stressed this is the operator's estimate and "not a binding date".
The project is still in planning, with licensing under way. Gonen said the building-permit process alone could take one to one and a half years because of the project's size and the number of professional and regulatory approvals required.
The project drew criticism at the latest city council meeting over how often residents are updated. Gonen said she meets the operator periodically and will publish updates on significant developments. She announced another status meeting with the parties involved, to be followed by a public update; no date was given.
