Harish Municipality has restructured its youth department with a completely new professional team, Deputy Mayor Moshe Ben Zikri, who holds the security and youth portfolio, announced on Tuesday, 3 November 2026.
The team comprises a department manager, a youth coordinator, two instructors, a coordinator for youth movements and leadership, and a Haredi youth coordinator.
Ben Zikri called the expansion a significant step toward improving youth activity in the city, and said the work does not end with filling the posts. The department plans to keep recruiting staff, widen partnerships, develop services suited to the changing needs of children and teenagers, and offer a broader range of leisure activities. Hanukkah events and longer-term programming are being prepared.
